Who am I?

My name is Jodi, I currently live and work for a tech company in New York City. I grew up in a town of 4,500 smack dab in the middle of America, that holds the title of “Farm Toy Capital of the World”. Oh, and that one Kevin Costner film was filmed there, which is really the only reason many people on the East Coast have ever heard the word “Iowa” before. After losing my mom unexpectedly two years ago, I made it my mission to never look back at my life and ask the question “Why didn’t I just go for it”. I have spent a good majority of the last two years discovering who I am by exploring placesthat are unfamiliar to me along with rediscovering places that are extremely familiar with a different perspective on life.
Many people ask me how I can afford to travel and the real answer is that according to main stream America’s financial road maps, “I CAN’T”. I have been blessed with the double edge sword that was a 100% corporate travel job, which loaded my frequent flier accounts for a solid year and a half. But even so, this has been something that I have sacrificed and made a priority and hope to continue making a top priority even as other life events happen because to me, this is part of my dna, this is who I am. Collecting moments with people I love while they are still in my life is what drives me every single day.
My blog right now is a creative outlet for me to share my passion with the world or just handful of people who I force to read it. Ideally I would love it to be a tool to inspire and challenge others to discover or RE-discover places and experiences that may just change their lives. I appreciate any support in this process and can’t wait to share my adventures with you!
